Lucifer's Mansion, Sunday Night

It had been another weird week. But enough of the weird - both from this week, and the ones before it - had apparently passed for Octavia and Lucifer to meet up at the house again on this Sunday evening for another date night.

The previously unfurnished room on the second floor was no longer unfurnished. Octavia didn't know whether Lucifer had noticed yet, especially since she'd left the door closed after she'd been done with it. She didn't know whether it would come into play yet, anyway.

And either way, they were downstairs, sitting down properly at the dining table. A gesture towards things Lucifer liked. And Octavia had cooked, even if the main had been just a very simple salad, which they were just about finished with. The equally simple dessert was still waiting in the fridge.

"Maybe one of these weeks you could give me a lesson." A beat. "You know, for cooking. We could make a thing of it."

Lucifer laughed. "Your permission," he said, and scooped her up off the floor.

Octavia gave another little huff, but just clung to him.

Lucifer carried her to the sofa - the biggest one, the one he could stretch on. He sat down on it with her on his lap. "There."

"Mmm," Octavia hummed, shifting a little to settle in more comfortably. "Good."

"I was going to lay sideways," Lucifer chuckled, "But I'm having a hard time following through when you're moving about in my lap like that."

"I can stop moving?" Octavia offered, completely ignoring how she basically already had.

[my_own_advocate]

"I didn't say that," Lucifer teased.

[okteiviakom]

Octavia snorted.

"I'm sensing a shift in the mood."

[my_own_advocate]

"Merely my perpetually dirty mind," Lucifer said, pressing a kiss to the back of her head. "Come on."

And he did, in fact, try to shift to lay on his side, and to take her with him as he did so.

Octavia saw no reason to object, or fight him, so...

Down they both went. A little awkwardly, but still.

Lucifer shifted and pulled her a touch tighter into his arms to alleviate that. "There," he murmured. "Perfect."

Octavia settled into it just as she had when they'd still been standing up.

Close and cozy and warm.

Perfect.

Lucifer pressed his face into her shoulder - now within easy reach - and settled.

And so did Octavia.

She would be breathing with him again in no time.

Lucifer made it easy for her, his breathing falling into a slow, even rhythm.

Not asleep. But certainly at peace.

Peace was nice right now. Octavia sank into it, her breath syncing up with his slow rhythm in no time at all.

She stayed in it for a good long time before moving again. And even then, it was just her hand against his arm, fingertips light on the skin he'd left exposed when he'd pulled up his sleeves.

The touch was-- not quite startling, but it felt as if something real came to him in the midst of a dream.

Perhaps that was what made that light touch feel... rather more significant. Made Lucifer suck in a breath.

Octavia hadn't expected that as a reaction, but then had she really expected anything at all? She'd just done it.

Was still doing it, drawing some slow, abstract pattern onto his skin.

"Sometimes I imagine you're thinking about tattoos when you do that," Lucifer murmured.

Wasn't sure why.

"Sometimes I am," Octavia replied. Quiet and soft.

[my_own_advocate]

"What would you give me, if you could?" Lucifer asked, just as soft. "Tattoo-wise."

Octavia gave a soft hum as she thought about it. (Still drawing her shapes.)

"Finer lines. Something a little more delicate."

[my_own_advocate]

"I'm delicate?" Lucifer teased softly. "Haven't heard that one before."

[okteiviakom]

"Sometimes you are," Octavia replied, unfazed. "But I was talking about what would suit you."

[my_own_advocate]

"Ah," Lucifer said. "Why do you feel that would suit me?"

Just curious, not judgmental one way or the other.
