Lucifer's Mansion, Sunday Night

It had been another weird week. But enough of the weird - both from this week, and the ones before it - had apparently passed for Octavia and Lucifer to meet up at the house again on this Sunday evening for another date night.

The previously unfurnished room on the second floor was no longer unfurnished. Octavia didn't know whether Lucifer had noticed yet, especially since she'd left the door closed after she'd been done with it. She didn't know whether it would come into play yet, anyway.

And either way, they were downstairs, sitting down properly at the dining table. A gesture towards things Lucifer liked. And Octavia had cooked, even if the main had been just a very simple salad, which they were just about finished with. The equally simple dessert was still waiting in the fridge.

"Maybe one of these weeks you could give me a lesson." A beat. "You know, for cooking. We could make a thing of it."

"'Cause sometimes you like precise things," Octavia murmured, switching fingertips for nails on his skin, but just as light. "Pristine and clean and nice."

"True," Lucifer murmured. "Within reason."

"Of course." A pause. "Because you like me, too."

And she was rarely any of those things.

Lucifer smiled. "Very much," he said, "Though you have your precise moments, as well."

"Do I?"

[my_own_advocate]

"About words and meanings," Lucifer said softly, "Or when a task seems important to you."

[okteiviakom]

"Oh." She hadn't thought of it that way. Not just now, anyway. "That's fair."

"That always fascinated me about you," Lucifer murmured. "How you could be so brusque and to the point, and yet so endlessly careful with the things you felt mattered."

He smiled. "Like my body, at the moment."

"At the moment," Octavia agreed.

Drawing a circle.

[my_own_advocate]

"You also seem to be having fun," Lucifer teased.

[okteiviakom]

"It's date night." The circle turned into a spiral. "Even when we make it weird sometimes, fun is pretty much guaranteed."

"Mmhm," Lucifer hummed, eyes sliding shut. "I do love date night."

[okteiviakom]

"Whatever it looks like."

Another spiral, that turned into a triangle around the same area.

"Wherever it happens."

[my_own_advocate]

"You and I, finding new and interesting ways to come together," Lucifer said.

Only a little bit of intentional innuendo. A smidge.

Sure.

Octavia snorted. "Is that the goal?"

[my_own_advocate]

"Less of a goal," Lucifer mused. "More of an inevitability."

[okteiviakom]

Octavia turned her head a little, to catch a better glimpse at his face. "Is that so?"

"I don't know if you've noticed, but we fit together in a multitude of ways," Lucifer said, half-teasing, half-not. "Whether naked and extremely kinky, or... curled up on the sofa together."

"Mm, that's true," Octavia had to admit. And then drawl, "What a happy coincidence."

They had worked for some of it, they really had.

"I'm not sure it's coincidence, darling," Lucifer laughed, and pressed a kiss against her shoulder.

"You might be right," Octavia admitted freely. "Not like just these nights haven't... evolved a lot since we started."

"In a myriad of directions," Lucifer said. He let out a thoughtful huff. "How would you like it to evolve tonight?"

He was comfortable where he was, but also always up for something else.

"I don't really know."

Hadn't really thought about it, with how comfortable she was.

However... "But I guess there's something I should show you before you stumble upon it."

Lucifer raised his eyebrows. "Oh, really?"

"I may have commandeered an empty room."

She had.

"On the second floor."
