Lucifer's Mansion, Sunday Evening

Tomorrow, they'd be home in the Bahamas again, most likely. But right now... Octavia and Lucifer were exploring the latter's old mansion. In Octavia's case, with a glass of wine in hand, and a sort of a permanent mix of amusement and curiosity on her face.

"Oh, there's a lot that hasn't been done yet, isn't there?" she said, peering into the living room. "Weird."

"I have a very good memory for sex toys, generally," Lucifer protested. "... But we did get a lot of them."

He was a go-with-his-partners-desires kind of devil, and Octavia had a great deal of prop-dependant ones.

It was just one of the many beauties of her, clearly.

"And I was just figuring it out, at the start," Octavia noted. "Trying things and figuring out which made me tick."

"But tick you did," Lucifer said, grinning. "Wonderfully."

"Mmm."

She straightened up, let her head tilt against his shoulder for a moment.

"I'm thinking of keeping this simple."

"Sometimes simple is best," Lucifer said, smiling. "May I hear what you're plotting?"

Octavia's head lifted off his shoulder again, and she looked up at him. "Take off your shirt."

All in good time!

Lucifer huffed in amusement, but he pulled away from her. And obeyed, stripping out of his easy - thin, less formal than it would have been once before - white shirt, unbuttoning it before pulling it over his shoulders.

While Octavia looked on approvingly.

"Meizen," she said, softly. Because his guys weren't the only ones thinking their partner just got better with age.

Lucifer smiled, and folded the soft linen carefully.

He set it down on the nightstand, next to his wine.

Octavia turned her attention on the cuffs. There was a connector linking them together: she undid the clasps on both, then reached for one of his hands.

"You know I don't really need these," she rasped. "But the symbolic value is too good to pass up, sometimes."

"You won't hear me arguing," Lucifer said. He didn't just let her take his hand, he held up the other one, too.

So Octavia put one cuff around one wrist, then the other. Nice and snug, since they had a comfortable, fuzzy lining.

She didn't join them together.

"For as long as these are on you," she said, looking up at his face again, "you only touch what I tell you to touch."

Lucifer's response was a curt nod.

Something like restraint crept into his entire posture as she closed that last cuff.

Octavia noticed. She gave another quiet, throaty chuckle.

"Oh, look who's a good boy," she murmured, reaching up to caress his cheek because she could.

"Always, for you," Lucifer said, smiling, leaning into her touch.

He'd clearly earned this continued touch.

And speaking of... "And do you know what good boys get?"

"Attention?" Lucifer asked, soft and eager at the same time.

It wasn't the word Octavia had been planning to use, but it was clearly much too delicious not to latch on to. In part because even after all these years, she still kind of melted at hearing him sound like that.

"Yes." She dragged a nail down his cheek, leaning up a little, closer. "Lots and lots of attention."

Lucifer shivered. His eyes shut involuntarily. "Mm."

Her other hand found its way onto his shoulder, as her voice dropped lower.

"Do you like the sound of that?"

"Yes," Lucifer said.

Or breathed, really.

"Mm," Octavia hummed.

She pressed a kiss against his cheek. Then another, right below it.

They always said you were supposed to grow used to this. Get bored of it, really. There were thousands of humans Lucifer could remember, who searched for excitement outside of their own spouses because life had gotten too dull at home.

The older they all got, the less he understood it.

Another exhale. His hands relaxed from the brief clench he had only been half-aware of.

Maybe they were very lucky. As if the multiverse was providing something to balance out everything they'd had to get through to get here.

Octavia pressed a kiss to his jaw, then nipped at it with the barest hint of teeth. Her nails teased their way up his shoulder on the other side.

Lucifer's head tilted to the side, as if pulled that way by some languid, unseen force of nature. His eyes were still closed.

He let himself feel the prick of her nails, the brush of her teeth.
