Lucifer's Mansion, Sunday Evening

Tomorrow, they'd be home in the Bahamas again, most likely. But right now... Octavia and Lucifer were exploring the latter's old mansion. In Octavia's case, with a glass of wine in hand, and a sort of a permanent mix of amusement and curiosity on her face.

"Oh, there's a lot that hasn't been done yet, isn't there?" she said, peering into the living room. "Weird."

"This, too," Octavia amended, just as quietly. "Like a good boy."

"Yours," Lucifer sighed.

He fell still, half-slumped against her.

"Mine," Octavia agreed, soft and gentle. Still a little breathless.

Basking, with her lips curving into a smile on their own.

"I love you," Lucifer whispered. "Ai hod yu in. I'm so glad I met you."

"Ai hod yu in seintaim, ai skaifaya," Octavia murmured. "Otaim. My life would not be as good without you."

Lucifer sighed again. With a little shift, he slid out of her. Cuffs or no cuffs, he needed to be next to her right now. With her. Properly. So he moved to her side.

Funnily enough, once he'd shifted, Octavia turned a little more onto her side - and reached for one of his hands.

"You've done your time."

There was a gentleness to her smirk.

"For now."

There was a tenderness to his smile.

Octavia snorted. "For now," she agreed, her fingers unclasping the cuff from his wrist. "Still, maybe next date night will be payback."

"I look forward to it," Lucifer teased, holding his hands steady for her again.

Octavia tossed the cuff aside and moved to his other offered hand. "Been a while since I've been bent over and cuffed to a bench..."

Tav, you're not supposed to just give out ideas like that.

(Except she routinely did so.)

"Ah," Lucifer said, grinning. "One has to save the classics for special occasions."

Octavia gave another snort.

The cuff came off. She tossed it aside, too, then brought his hand up closer to her face. And pressed a little kiss against his wrist.

The grin slid back into a small smile.

"This place," Lucifer said. "It makes one think about all the time we've already spent together, doesn't it?"

"Probably natural," Octavia murmured in agreement, as she used his hand to tug him closer, into more of a cuddle. "This is where it started."

Lucifer slid his arm around her waist and curled around her instantly.

"What an incredible coincidence for all of us to wind up here at the same time," he murmured.

"Sometimes we've gotten lucky," Octavia replied, sliding her leg over his. Settling.

"Still," Lucifer said softly. "It's... incredible."

[okteiviakom]

"You're incredible." Sometimes she just needed to say it. While running her fingers slowly through his hair. "But... I know. The odds weren't ever in favor of us all meeting, and yet."

Lucifer rubbed his thumb along her waist, tracing a tattoo. "I am deeply grateful for all the time we've had," he murmured. "And all the time we will have."

Octavia watched his face with half-lidded eyes.

"Me too."

"And everything this place has given us," Lucifer said softly. He cleared his throat, a bit embarrassed by himself. "Perhaps when we go back, we should... tack on a few weeks' vacation in the Black Forest."

Octavia couldn't help her smile. It came from the same place as her need to go sit in the preserve, this morning.

"Really?" she murmured. "Maybe we should."

"We can find a little... cottage in the middle of the woods," Lucifer said, his arm sliding more tightly around her. "Go for walks every day. You and Duke can go do your mad foraging and fishing bit."

He knew her so well.

"You spoil me," Octavia teased, pressing a soft kiss to his jaw.

(Of course, she could have just lived in the woods. But she'd accepted long ago that that wasn't going to happen.)
