Lucifer's Mansion, Sunday Evening

Another Sunday, another date night at the mansion, another meal almost finished. The dessert was more chocolate than it was fruit, but the latter was still very much a part of it. The combination seemed to be just the right thing for Octavia, because...

"Is it too much if I lick the bowl?"

The answer was not going to affect her much.

"I understand," Lucifer said quietly. He swallowed. "You've never told me about her much."

"I don't talk about her much to begin with," Octavia muttered, which was really more just agreement than anything else. "It's complicated."

"You don't have to if you don't want to." Lucifer reached up and brushed some of her hair out of the way. "I certainly understand parents can be complicated."

"Maybe not right now," Octavia said, after a small moment of silence. "This is going to get really maudlin really fast."

"All right," Lucifer said. He pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Then, find me something fun."

"Something fun," Octavia echoed. "Okay, I'll try."

"My closet is your oyster," Lucifer said, taking a step aside.

"Weird thing to say," Octavia replied with a soft snort, but stepped further for a closer look at...

Everything, really.

"Judgmental," Lucifer sighed.

She knew this closet by now: Lucifer's many suits were in the section they were in now - specifically, by his 'special occasions' jackets. Dresses and blouses and skirts, chiefly for his female visitors once, a little further down. Fetish gear near the back.

An eclectic mix of all kinds of bits and bobs in the middle.

Octavia was taking an interest in the suits, first. Just because the materials and the quality of the stitching spoke to her in a way that they didn't need to get (back) into.

But:

"No, I don't think the suits are going to be it," she said, after a moment, heading a little further.

"You can see me in a suit every day," Lucifer agreed, following her.

"True," Octavia replied.

So she was finding herself poking at the bits and bobs.

They were souvenirs from Lucifer's time in LA, in part - leather jackets and sweatshirts from when he'd tried to be Dan, costumes from shows, almost-disguises like the turtlenecks and polos from his time pretending to be married to Cain.

The rest of them were souvenirs, too. Just from... different times, different places, across the ages.

Lucifer took his flask from his pocket and took a sip.

Of course Octavia got stuck admiring the leather jackets a little longer than some of the other things.

But then that seemed to give her an idea, sending her clearly looking for something.

Lucifer watched her flit off, but, well. He wasn't going to interrupt her looking.

So he took another sip, staying to watch.

Octavia managed to find a nice pair of leather pants, but just hung those over her other arm as she looked for something else.

A shirt.

She'd know what she was looking for when she found it. She had a vague instinct she was following.

Lucifer eyed the leather trousers and... vaguely hoped they were proper leather trousers and he hadn't misfiled some orgy pants somewhere.

Call it an old trauma. "Finding what you're looking for?"

This was Octavia: they were definitely proper leather pants. (Though she might be intrigued by orgy ones.)

"Almost," she said, catching the sleeve of a shirt between her fingers to feel the fabric, then letting it go again.

"Then don't let me interrupt your process," Lucifer teased.

Octavia snorted. "I don't have a pro--"

And then she cut off on a little noise of curiosity, which then led to seeming somewhat pleased with the discovery of a silk button-down shirt, just a little flowy, and dark but not black.

"I don't know about fun," she said as she turned towards him with the pants and the shirt, "but I think I wanna see these."

Lucifer laughed. He wasn't sure whether it was surprise or something else. But he reached for the pants, first. "As you wish."

Octavia raised her eyebrows a little at the laugh, but didn't ask.

"As I do," she agreed.

"All right."

Lucifer reached down to take off his shoes, then back up to undo the button on his trousers. They dropped neatly to the floor.

It wasn't like he was going to ask her to turn around, or anything.

Instead he just moved on to pulling on the leather pants-- thankfully, they still fit. "Not one of the orgy pants, then."

Octavia's gaze flicked up from -- well, a little further down, to his face.

"... Orgy pants?"

"I have some leather trousers with some, ah, well-placed holes," Lucifer said, as he pulled the pants over his hips. "I call them orgy pants, because, well. They're very useful in orgies."
