The Cape Rouge, Tuesday... Noon?

Right, to recap: Octavia's weekend had been replaced by one very long day. On Sunday, she and Duke had landed back in Fandom, and she'd failed to sleep much during the night, leading to her then passing out for most of the day, instead. And then she'd gone out to the Nest, gotten drunk, come back to the boat, and failed to fall asleep properly again until it had already been close to Tuesday morning.

And now that she had finally woken up again, she had no concept of what time it was, anymore.

But she knew her head hurt, and she felt nauseous and a little jittery. All of which felt like... oddly grounding things, after the past couple of days. Maybe it was the way her body finally felt fully as awful as the rest of her already had.

Anyway, she was keeping a close proximity to walls as she made her way out of the bedroom, finally, and towards the galley. Just in case she needed the support.

Duke hummed a little as he nodded.

"Pillows, though."

"Those are different."

[betterthanaplan]

"We should do that, then."

[okteiviakom]

Octavia watched his face, just for a moment.

Then she said, softly, "Okay."

She wasn't in the mood to deny him anything.

"Okay," Duke said. He pushed a lock of wet hair out of his face. "I might shower first though."

He was starting to notice how cold he was, yes.

[okteiviakom]

"Probably a good idea," Octavia murmured with a tiny nod.

Paused, hesitated.

"You want company?"

[betterthanaplan]

"If you think it would be okay for your hangover," Duke said, "I would love company."

[okteiviakom]

"I promise I'll bow out if I start feeling faint or something."

She could at least pretend to know how to look after herself?

"Good." Duke kissed her forehead. "Ai hod yu in, gona."

[okteiviakom]

"Ai hod yu in seintaim," Octavia murmured. "Otaim."

[betterthanaplan]

"Even when I'm acting really stupid?" Duke checked.

[okteiviakom]

"Otaim," Octavia just repeated, with more... weight.

And she didn't use that word lightly to begin with.

[betterthanaplan]

"Otaim," Duke agreed softly. "Mochof."

[okteiviakom]

"Yu laik ai deimeika," Octavia murmured, nuzzling his neck. "Ai flapkrasha."

Always.

[betterthanaplan]

Duke let out a soft sigh. A little bit too much like a sob for his preferences. He didn't trust his voice to respond, so he buried his face in her hair instead.

That was fine. Octavia would just keep clinging to him.

Maybe eventually they'd even remember about the shower again.
