Lucifer's Mansion, Sunday Night

Octavia had been feeling kind of... restless, this week. But keeping it to herself, because Duke had been having a rougher time, and anyway, it was fine. This feeling came and went, and Octavia was used to it.

(Though it really would have been great if Dr. Baker had been able to squeeze her in during some other time this week, after the regular Tuesday session got cancelled.)

It was Sunday now, anyway. Food and cider and hopefully a good time? Octavia had even channeled some of her twitchiness into prepping dessert, earlier. "The fruit's all ready in the fridge," she said, as she got up to clear away the dinner plates. "The white chocolate on them should have set by now."

Spoken like she actually knew anything and hadn't just grabbed the instructions from Google this morning.

"Better?" Lucifer asked.

"Enh." So maybe not quite. "Can you get my shirt?"

He was the reason her bra was all sorts of awkward underneath it, after all.

"Give me a moment," Lucifer said.

He reached under her shirt to undo the clasp on her bra first - that seemed more pressing - and then pushed her shirt up, over her head.

Octavia was awkward and uncoordinated about bringing her arms up for it but whatever, it got the job done.

"Chof."

Lucifer cast the shirt aside, and then took a moment to run his fingers along her cheek. "Sorry about the discomfort."

"It's part of the deal," Octavia murmured, as she finally looked up at him, for the first time in a while.

Her eyes were just a little bit red, just faintly puffy.

Lucifer noticed. The line of his mouth softened. "How do you feel?"

"Tired."

It was the topmost emotion, though not the only one.

"Well, we can get some sleep," Lucifer said softly.

[okteiviakom]

"Tired, not sleepy," Octavia corrected, with something approaching a gentle tone.

"Fair enough," Lucifer said.

He reached up to run his fingers along her cheek.

Octavia gave a faint 'hmh' of acknowledgement, her gaze sliding away from his face again.

Thinking.

"Hm," Lucifer hummed, but he fell silent. Waiting to see if she'd share something.

There was kind of a long quiet. Slow processing.

"You're still overdressed," she muttered, eventually. And then, almost like an afterthought, "Is it too cold out for the hot tub?"

Lucifer blinked, surprised. "It's not freezing," he said, "So the hot tub is certainly an option."

"Why do you seem surprised?"

Octavia just sounded a little mild.

"It's just not what I expected you to say," Lucifer admitted. He cleared his throat. "Shall we go, then?"

"Yeah, let's," Octavia mumbled, already pushing herself a little more upright.

Lucifer slipped out of bed, and... quickly stripped out of his remaining clothes.

A hot bath would be good. "It should be warm," he added, "But feel free to check the water."

Octavia gave another vague hum, padding to the balcony door, then opening it.

Actually stepping outside wearing nothing was... well, she definitely felt a little more awake, now. But when she stuck her hand in the water, at least that was actually warm. "Water's fine."

"Then let's not wait out in this cold," Lucifer said, joining her on the balcony a moment later. "Get on in."

Well, Octavia didn't really need to say anything to that.

Just make her way into the tub, exhaling a soft sigh as she sank onto the seat, the water like a warm blanket all the way up to her shoulders.

Lucifer followed her a moment later, letting out a soft sigh of pleasure as his feet, and then his legs, touched the warm water. "Excellent idea," he said, as he sank into it.

"Have them sometimes," Octavia said, mildly but on another sigh, leaning back.

"You do," Lucifer said, looking at her a touch curiously.

He reached out with one foot to tap hers.
