Lucifer pressed his fingers against his eyelids.

"Can I come by?" he said. "Just to check on you."

Octavia opened her eyes and stared out the window for a moment.

Longer silence, this time.

"Sure."

"I'll stop by this afternoon, then," Lucifer said, an audible hint of relief in his voice. "Where?"

"I'll text you the address of the marina."

She figured she should probably try and get some rest. Maybe.

Lucifer breathed in deeply.

"Thank you," he said.

Octavia sounded tired. Nothing more, nothing less. "See you, Lucifer."
