Lucifer's Mansion, Very Late Friday Night

Octavia hadn't said much on the walk over from the club. Hadn't felt like it, for whatever reason. And there was worth to be found in silence on a late-night walk through town, anyway.

But they were here now. Just inside the door, and Octavia sighed and brushed her hair back from her face, and and seemed to try and inhale some sociability into herself.

"Do you have fruit?"

The odds didn't seem great. It wasn't like he was actually here a whole lot, these days.

That kind of thing seemed to be happening a lot, lately.

Octavia's fingersrubbed at the back of his neck. Her voice got a little lighter. "You are my very favorite Devil."

"I'd say I'm the only Devil," Lucifer said, also grasping for some lightness, "But apparently miss Smith got into a fight with an alternate version of me."

"Clearly an inferior version."

That came out with zero hesitation.

"I'm glad you agree," Lucifer teased.

"I did just tell you you're my favorite."

[my_own_advocate]

"So you did," Lucifer said, and swept his fingers through her hair again. "Want to lay with me for a while before Duke turns up?"

Octavia's nod was small, and her hum of 'mmhmm' very quiet. But they should have been enough to convey that yes, she absolutely wanted to just curl up against him and wait for their... guy, to show up.

Lucifer nodded. He let go of her to lay down on the bed, stretching himself a bit.

Then he reached for her again.

Octavia lay down beside him --

Well, no. Mostly sprawled in top of him, actually. One arm and one leg draped over him, and her head against his chest.

Not being as close as that was not an option.

"Well, hello there," Lucifer said softly, his arms wrapping around her in all her sprawling glory.

Skin to skin was the best thing. And his skin was warm and his chest was solid, and so where else would she go?

"Ha yun," Octavia murmured, settling down in his arms.

"My Octavia," Lucifer murmured, closing his eyes with a smile.

[okteiviakom]

"My ridiculous Devil," Octavia sighed.

This was good.

Lucifer chuckled softly, and fell silent.

Which was how Duke was going to find them shortly afterwards. Tangled up, eyes closed and smiling.
