A Sailboat in San Diego Bay, Friday

Far away from Fandom collectively heaving a sigh of relief, the sailboat vacation was still going well. Even if not all parts of it really counted as vacationing - meaning that Octavia had gotten up early, this morning, to account for the time difference between San Diego and New York. Wasn't going to take a break from therapy just because she was on the opposite coast, not with the way the past couple of months had gone.

And much like on Tuesday, it had been... a little easier than several of the sessions in the very recent past. Even with the video chat aspect, which she wasn't entirely comfortable with. But, clearly enough.

They'd talked about this trip. And tattoos.

And grief.

And now all of that was done, and she made her way across the boat again, and leaned in the master bedroom door, seeing if the guys were still sleeping.

"What? We weren't going to dunk you, obviously."

Duke clicked his tongue and pointed at Lucifer in agreement. "That's a rule. Only dunk the experienced swimmers."

"Still," Octavia said, between strokes. "Didn't want to."

"Fair enough," Lucifer sighed. Mostly because there was no point in arguing.

Duke kept watching her swim, admiring the way she looked in the water. “Meant I got to watch you a little from below,” he said. “Can’t complain about that.”

Octavia hadn't been trying to argue in the first place. And that meant she was more than willing to let it go.

Made her tone lighter, even. "You'll take any chance to ogle, won't you?"

"Well," Lucifer said, cracking open one eye. "You can't blame him. You're very ogleable."

"Especially all wet and naked," Duke said cheerfully. "Gliding through the water, silhouetted against the sunlight. . . ."

Octavia made an amused noise. "It feels nice, too," she admitted.

The water against her bare skin, not necessarily the ogling, but they were free to interpret it whichever way they wished.

"Nothing quite like skinny dipping," Lucifer said, shifting until he could actually see her. "Your breasts are pleasantly buoyant, I must say."

Duke laughed hard enough he lost control of his float and had to roll over in the water.

"That they are, yes."

Octavia choked back a sound that almost had her snorting water up her nose. Did not actually interrupt her stroke, though!

Too much.

"Thanks, I guess."

"Must feel nice," Lucifer said, grinning.

This was exactly why they were by themselves at the lagoon.

"Well, are you?"

"No, merely fascinated by your experiences during your first skinny dip," Lucifer said sunnily.
