The Samsara, Port of Fandom, Monday Evening
Lucifer was supposed to come over for dinner, and Octavia was looking forward to it. That should have been a given, but after the last while, it was an odd feeling.
A good feeling.
She'd cleared the table, down in the cabin, and was now sitting on the deck in the back. Just waiting while she listened to the sound of the water.
[ooc: For the devil.]

"Evening," he called, as he stepped onto the boat. "I come bearing rice."

"... All of it?"

This was not news, Octavia. But then, it also sounded a little too soft to be an accusation to begin with.
She got up from her seat.

He smiled at her, then stole into the seating area so he could start unpacking all of that food.

Guess which one had plagued her over the last couple of weeks.
(He was still right, too, though. She was just being a pain.)

He pulled the lid off of the pad thai, then grabbed the mango fried rice.
no subject
The smell of food wafted over to her almost immediately after he opened the container, so she could say that with great certainty.
no subject
He produced a few more boxes from the bags.

And since the table and her kitchen set-up were across from each other, that didn't leave either of them much room. But he was probably fine being bumped into.

Once all the containers were open, Lucifer slid into a seat, just to get out of her way. He watched her bustle about, smiling.

Unless he'd brought beverages with the rest of the excess.
no subject
To match her.

Then paused, standing at the end of the table.
Gave him a little look.
"So, across, or side by side?"
no subject

She was good at that sort of thing.

Far too soft for snark. She was still at the stage where everything positive felt like a gift.

He leaned to the side and brushed a gentle kiss against her cheek. "Enjoy your meal."
no subject
Octavia's own expression softened considerably. "Mochof," she murmured. "You too."
no subject
"So how was your day?" he asked.
no subject
And that was a welcome thing.
