(Outside) MCA #9, Friday Afternoon
There was nothing Octavia could do.
But Octavia needed to do something, because she needed to feel like she could control something. She'd tried to make that something be further work on her boat, but that kept making her feel like she was somehow gearing up to abandon the Rouge, not to mention reminding her how few things of her own she had in the first place.
Except that wasn't true, was it? She had things. She just hadn't touched most of them in seven years.
And so she'd done another thing she hadn't done in years, and called Magnus to come help her. And now there they were, in the hallway right outside the apartment, armed with a bunch of cardboard boxes, and Octavia was --
Hesitating.
"Thanks for coming," she said, twisting the key around in her hand. She should've been opening the door right now, right? But she was stalling. "And sorry I haven't... been in touch."
[ooc: Primarily for the one mentioned, but Octavia's out in the hallway a lot so feel free to catch her!]

Since he liked to think he'd gotten better at carving since that last gift happened.

She had her reasons.
(And those reasons were currently stuck in Maine.)

And then found herself just quietly watching him for a moment. The times where none of this felt real came further and further apart the longer she was back on the island, but guess this was one of them.

He grinned at her once he noticed. "You need another hug?"

"What happens if I say no again?"

"Good answer."
She got up, still holding Stephven carefully as she did. And then she opened her arms.
Only a little. But it was still an invitation.

Sighed.
"Have you listened to radio?" she asked, quietlt.
Because she'd made damn sure not to mention anything about Duke being gone, until now.

In all its nonsensical glory.
Her voice went flatter. "He's not a hamster. He's missing."

"Like you were or...?"

Yeah, she was really careful about not letting any emotion into her voice, now.
"He went h-- back to Haven, then told me he'd have to stay a couple days longer. I haven't heard from him since, neither has anyone else."

"He better be."
Because she didn't know what she'd do without him.

"It's just a lil' roadblock. You'll see." He totally told Duke that Octavia would be back too. And he'd been right then too!

And she couldn't bear the thought of Duke coming back seven years older, too.
She didn't say anything about it. Just finally pulled back from the hug. "Is there a lot more to pack?"
